Supply chain issues continue to impact many industries, but one of the hardest hit is building and construction. While clients may theoretically understand that supply chain shortages will affect their project, they are still anxious to have the project completed on time! As such, many contractors are turning to alternative building materials when possible. The Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin continues to keep an eye on these changes and recently discussed them in their Contractor’s Blog.
Unfortunately for builders and clients, supply chain shortages show every sign of continuing through 2022. In their recent blog, ABC of Wisconsin notes “In 2022, alternative materials will increasingly be an option, though less due to supply chain woes than continuing quality improvement.” Of course, one of the other ways to deal with shortages is to stock up when you can. If businesses have the storage space, many are choosing to buy whatever materials are available now that they feel confident will be used in an upcoming project.
