Sheboygan County Hazardous Waste Collection

Spring shall be here any day now (that’s us staying hopeful)! The first day of Spring is March 20th, that may mean ‘Spring Cleaning’ for many of you; we would like to inform you that Sheboygan County will be holding collection sites for disposing of hazardous waste. Household and Ag-chemicals will be accepted at the collection sites.

 

The hazardous waste collections are available for Sheboygan County residents only on Saturday April 1st, 2017 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am at the location of the Sheboygan County Highway Department – Plymouth Shed, N6111 County Road OJ, Plymouth, WI. There will be a fee per vehicle.

 

Hazardous Waste Materials Accepted:

  • Flammable liquids
  • Fluorescent bulbs (household quantities)
  • Cleaners
  • Oil-based paints
  • Household batteries
  • Aerosols
  • Solvents
  • Acids and bases
  • Poisons
  • Varnishes
  • Old gasoline
  • Antifreeze
  • Thinners
  • Pesticides and herbicides
  • Reactives (typically pool chemicals)
  • Most Electronic

 

Disposing materials properly can prevent potential health risks to people and the environment, which could contaminate groundwater, rivers, and lakes. “Since 2001, Sheboygan County’s Household Hazardous Waste collections have properly disposed of over 1,400,000 of hazardous waste!”
