Last week we attended the Production, Technology & Operations EPS Fall Conference (PTO Conference 2017) in Las Vegas. Recapping the event for Plymouth Foam was attendee, Mark Schuh, Vice President of Operations.
The PTO conference was highly attended with over 200 attendees representing 40 molders throughout the country (including Hawaii)! There were multiple informative and educational presentations from leaders in the industry. A specific topic presented was, “How to optimize your process to produce dryer parts.” Dryer parts have less concern for mold growth. Another presentation focused on, “Breaking down the barriers that our industry continues to face such as sustainability challenges and new regulation.” noted Schuh.
“The conference included various breakout sessions and they were outstanding,” said Schuh. Sessions focused on safety improvement, industry wide commitment to continuous improvement systems like 5S and Lean Manufacturing, general industry knowledge sharing sessions on best practice steam system management and maintenance management.
New this year was an increased focus on creating a culture of associate engagement and excellence…as usual the networking opportunities were plentiful.
“There was something for everyone at this conference regardless of your years of experience in the industry or role in the industry.” added Schuh.
Plymouth Foam was highlighted for our excellent website and our use of the recycling bin at our facility in Plymouth.
We are already looking forward to next year’s PTO Conference and the upcoming EPS EXPO that we regularly attend in Spring.
