This week we are introducing you to the last of the Altor Solutions brands, Foam Fabricators. Foam Fabricators is one of the longest-running brands in the Altor Solutions family. They began in 1957, making products from expanded polystyrene (EPS). They grew their company across the United States, implementing state-of-the-art technology and an ever-growing product line, eventually becoming the “cornerstone” company of the Altor Solutions brands. Foam Fabricators has built their brand on excellent customer relationships, competitive pricing, and a diverse product portfolio.
Foam Fabricators’ product lines and capabilities are diverse. One of their many accomplishments is their involvement in shipping COVID-19 vaccinations. It is hard to believe it has been three years since the virus first entered our vocabulary and nearly that long since we first needed to quarantine. Yet, it is unlikely we will forget how desperately many of us waited for a vaccine and a time that life could return to normal.
However, now that the vaccines are in the news less, you may have forgotten how tricky the shipping process was initially. Each of the approved vaccines required different shipping temperatures, but all required cold temperatures, and – most importantly – consistent temperatures. Of course, these shipping conditions haven’t changed, but now the infrastructure to do so is in place, and the quantity shipped daily has decreased.
Foam Fabricators utilized multiple manufacturing centers and created a comprehensive logistics plan to meet the demand for molded expanded polystyrene (EPS) shippers. These containers were the proven solution to shipping at consistent cold temperatures due to the insulation capabilities of EPS foam. Everyone at Foam Fabricators was incredibly proud to play an essential role in distributing such needed vaccines. The entire EPS Industry is grateful to the team for showing the importance of EPS in saving lives then and yet today.
