Ellen, Energy and EPS Foam

Energy. It is all around us being transferred from one object to the next and being converted into many different forms. We don’t know about you, but the word “energy” makes us think of Ellen DeGeneres in the the Universe of Energy attraction at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  Ellen, along with the help of Bill Nye the Science Guy takes us on a time travel to learn about energy and dinosaurs. How energy is produced, the history of energy along with the search for new energy resources are all topics covered in the 45 minute attraction.

To state of the obvious, energy is found EVERYWHERE. Is it the simple answer to how something moves, why things grow or what creates light.

Although concept of energy is quite intriguing, the physics of energy leaves us proposing the question: how can EPS foam and energy work together to offer protection from accidents and collisions? The physics of the protection delivered by EPS foam are not as simple as they seem. In fact, we can think of EPS foam as a type of energy management.

In our industry, EPS foam focuses particularly on how energy management can be used in safety devices. Its ability to absorb energy is present in products such as bicycle helmets, sports pads, child car seats and safety barriers at all Nascar speedways. EPS foam offers a protective function that performs well in hard impacts yet is lightweight and durable to use.

Ellen did a great job of providing us an overview of what energy is and examples of where it can be found. Today we wanted to provide an overview of how EPS foam’s protective function can be managed in your favor!
