As has been our practice for many years, Plymouth Foam has again elected to make a donation to a worthy charity in lieu of providing holiday gifts and remembrances to our customers. We feel that this way of celebrating the holidays is in keeping with the real spirit of connection with other and the true meaning of Christmas!
This year, we are very pleased to have chosen the Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County. The Family Resource Center was established in 1997 as a nonprofit organization to help families in our community. They focus on two prevention-based, education programs: Parents as Teachers for parents and children ages 0–3 and Literacy Council for adults 18 years and older.
Parents as Teachers: Parents as Teachers is a program for parents with a child age birth to three years old that offers no cost home visits to listen to your questions and provide information on child development and parenting skills. Parents as Teachers is a nationally accredited program designed to help parents and caregivers positively support their child’s development so children grow up healthy and ready to learn!
Literacy Council: Better literacy. Better life. The Literacy Council helps adult 18 years and older who want to read, write, and speak English better so they can achieve their goals for work, education, family life and community involvement. Students meet one-on-one with a trained volunteer tutor for 1—2 hours a week in a public location.
